Lip Care Routine for Kissable Lips

Your lips can be prone to dryness and cracking like the rest of your body, which can be due to cold temperatures and dry air throughout the winter. The skin on your lips is much thinner and more delicate than the skin on the rest of your face which makes this area more prone to damage. But luckily there are ways you can keep your lips kissable during this time of year.

Maintain Hydration

Did you know your lips, unlike the rest of your facial skin, don’t have sebaceous glands or sweat glands? These glands are responsible for producing a natural moisture barrier on the skin and are commonly found in all areas of the body wherever hair grows. This lack of protection makes our lips more prone to UV and sun damage and other environmental stressors than the rest of our face. So it’s important that we help provide and maintain hydration on our lips throughout the year.

A great way to hydrate your lips is to find a lip product that contains a mix of ultra-hydrating polypeptides to help replenish lost moisture and help maintain it throughout the day! Our Image Ormedic Lip Enhancement Complex is a great one to add to your lip care routine.

Exfoliation is Key

Since lips can be prone to dryness and flaking, they can greatly benefit from gentle exfoliation. Gentle exfoliation can help remove the buildup of dry and flaking skin, while also helping to smooth out rough spots when done on a weekly basis (no more than twice a week). Our tip is when you exfoliate your lips, apply a small amount of a gentle facial cleanser with your fingers to your lips when they are wet. Gently rub the cleanser in a circular motion for up to 30 seconds before rinsing it off with lukewarm water.

Our Farmhouse Fresh lip scrubs are rich in oils making them very hydrating! Also included in our Spavia {LOCATION_TITLE} seasonal facials.
